Dandeli: Demand for renaming Somani circle to Ch. Shivaji Maharaj circle

Dandeli in Uttara Kannada (UK) district, Karnataka is a popular destination in the state’s and country’s tourist places. Dandeli’s main market and all commercial activities begin from Patel circle on the busy and popular J.N. Road. The road is home to shops; markets; offices; public utilities like banks; hotels-restaurants and showrooms of different brands. It is visited by all locals and tourists and has the KSRTC bus stand, and auto/taxi stands.

One can also see the W.C.P.M watch tower opposite the bus stand on J.N.Road. On traveling further towards Somani circle, on one corner of the double road; one can see an imposing equestrian mounted statue of Ch. Shivaji Maharaj.

It’s a long pending demand of CSMMS, that the Somani circle should be renamed as Ch. Shivaji Maharaj circle. The demand has been made many times to the concerned Municipal authorities in Dandeli.
