The NH 52 is the fourth longest national highway in the country, connecting Ankola in Uttara Kannada( UK) district, Karnataka to Sangrur in the northern state of Punjab.
But the highway is now seeing an increasing number of hit and run cases. And in most of the times, the large vehicles especially buses and trucks are involved. Because of over speeding and rash driving, certain stretches of the highway which are known to be desolate.
The stretch between Yellapur to Kirvatti is witnessing severe accidents resulting in quick death. The two wheel bikes are the victims who get hit, and lose their precious lives. Rash and negligent riding even on their part cannot be ruled out.
So, the highway authorities along with the Karnataka state administration, should think out-of-the-box and find lasting solutions to fix over speeding. They must undertake drives to educate pedestrians and teach the importance of road safety measures. This will help in saving lives of cattle and also the people using the road.
