India is a religious land blessed with shrines and temples across its length & breadth. The southern state of Karnataka, is home to many unique temples. One of the lesser known place is Bedesgaon(Bedesgav)in Mundgod taluk of Uttara Kannada district. It can be reached from Mundgod, Sirsi and Yellapur. It’s a scenic route and the entire place has big and small temples of great historicity.

After crossing the arch, one will get the view of the 1200-years-old  Shivaling of the Sh. Ramlingeshwar temple. The temple’s Devasthan Committee Adyaksh Nagaraj Naik, a teacher shared details of the temple. Bedesgav It was a thriving place during the reign of Bijjala king. There’s a kalyani (water body) behind the temple, which is perennial throughout the year. There’s another kalyani at the entrance, which is aesthetically designed. He also spoke about the Devarkadu project initiative undertaken by the Karnataka Forest Dept; and also thanked Harsha Bhanu. G.P. of the Indian Forest Service (IFS), who’s serving as the DCF.
