As we head into the last two months of the current year; will the much anticipated ‘November Kranti’, openly discussed in political circles finally take shape? The shadow boxing going on between the supporters of the current CM & his deputy, have been talked about openly since May 2023.

What was discussed behind closed doors will never be known. The rumours doing the rounds are denied, but they won’t go away. The media is blamed for speculating. So, will there be a Cabinet reshuffle along with the change in the Chief Minister (CM)?  The Siddaramaiah camp has started its preparations, if any change in the CM’s post happens after the Bihar assembly results.

Dr. Yathindra, a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC), son of CM Siddaramaiah, attended a program in Raibag taluk with the Public Works Department (PWD) & Belagavi district incharge Minister. There he made a statement that Satish Jarkiholi, was a strong advocate of AHINDA, and was the ideal person to succeed the CM. Was this an open endorsement by Siddaramaiah’s camp ? Is the statement made to preempt Dy. Chief Minister (DCM) D. K. Shivakumar (a.k.a DKShi) chances claiming the Chief Ministership?

The Jarkiholi’ (Gokak Savkar’s) family has created a unique record. Of the five brothers, Satish is an MLA representing the Yamakanmardi assembly constituency in the district. Of the remaining four brothers, two of them are BJP MLAs; one is an independent MLC, and one brother is not aligned with any party. Satish Jarkiholi’s daughter Priyanka, got elected for the first time as a Lok Sabha (LS) Member of Parliament (MP) from Chikkodi Parliamentary constituency in 2024.

The Belagavi district, recently witnessed the keenly contested
DCC bank elections. There the Jarkiholi’ panel gained the upper hand winning a large number of seats. Satish Jarkiholi’s son Rahul was elected unopposed, as a Director in the BDCC bank. Another son of BJP MLA Ramesh, was also elected unopposed as a Director in the same bank.

Dr. Yathindra’s remarks, were refuted by a follower of DKShi. Even the PWD minister issued a clarification that he was in the Chiefministership race after the 2028 assembly elections. And  decisions about CM being changed, were left to the party high command. Has the CM’s camp sent a message to DCM (DKShi) nursing Chief Ministerial ambitions? And the message is clear, that it won’t be a cakewalk for him. DKShi will have to contend with new entrants, as he now has stiff competition.
